How do I use these formulas?
Our PRN formulas (as needed) can be sprayed directly on the spine. These are quick acting for a trip to the vet, or a flight out of town. Dosage depends on weight and intensity of emotional disturbance. Thus an extremely anxious Chihuahua might need more formula than a German Shepherd. Remember, you can't overdose. Our other formulas are dispensed in water. If multiple animals use the same water dish, that's fine, they will not be harmed at all- these are not chemicals. If you have drinking fountains, click here . Oral dosing is also another method of delivery. You can use 3-4 drops in an oral syringe with 2CCs of water. The water is to dilute the taste of the vinegar.

Very rarely, pets with sensitive stomachs will not tolerate the vinegar in our formulas. You can put formula behind the ears, but you will need to put several drops and it will act slowly. If you haven't seen any results after two weeks, you can safely double the dose.

How do these vibrational essences work?
Although science is unable to detect it, according to many teachings around the world, there is a type of energy called chi in China , or prana in India . The essences contain certain types of chi which are captured in the water and when ingested or sprayed into the aura, blend with the receivers' own etheric body or chi. This idea of chi has been highly developed in the Orient, and is the basis of Ayurveda medicine in India , acupuncture, even herbal and homeopathic medicine. Energy is the safest medicine, and holds huge potential to deal with pressures of modern life.

How are these made?
Flowers are harvested in full bloom. They must be grown organically in pristine gardens for maximum energy and potency. The essences are made from these flowers with each different kind of flower treating a different emotional imbalance or symptom. Only one third of a plant's blossoms are harvested and placed in a bowl of clean water. The water absorbs the energy frequencies of the flowers, which in turn, can be formulated. If we think of emotions as energy, we will begin to see how the flower essences heal.

What are the side effects of these substances?
There are no known side effects. You cannot hurt your pet with these substances, and you cannot overdose with them. There is also no "high" associated with them. They either work or they don't. They are odorless and tasteless, although we formulate with 10% vinegar. This is to retard microbial growth, as flower essences are not sterile.

How were these discovered?
Dr Edward Bach discovered these substances in England in the 1930's. He was a noted homeopath and gained notoriety during the outbreak of the Spanish flu during WWI which killed so many. After many years of practice, he left the city for the rural areas of England . At this point, Dr. Bach became intensely interested in addressing the underlying causes of disease. No one knows exactly how he received the idea to produce flower essences, but they have steadily become more and more popular as the pressures of modern life bear down on all of us.

How effective are these formulas?
We have found them to be more effective on animals actually than on humans. Usually the greatest improvement is in the first month. If you haven't seen results after two weeks, you may need to increase the dosage or you haven't got the right formula. Direct usage in drinking water is best, but we have adjusted our formulation to account for spray application, Oral dosing is also a way to deliver the remedies. In this case, only 3-4 drops is necessary per 2 CC of distilled or RO water.

How much research has been done on these formulas?
As stated above, these remedies have existed for over sixty years. One leader in the area of research is the Flower Essence Society which has existed since the early seventies. They are primarily a research and educational facility, but also sell North American essences. They are online and highly reputable. Much works still needs to be done, since the Flower Essence Society has only about 140 flowers well researched. We use only the well-documented essences in our formulas. Research continues all around the world and this area promises to be a real contributor to medicine, psychology and sociology in the coming century.

Bottled Blessings' products in particular have been actively marketed since 2003. We have been gathering more and more experience with our formulas, which, in truth, are never finished developing and researching. Every once in a while, a flower essence is discovered that fits in particularly well with our formulas improving efficacy. We have extensive experience with all of our products for pets of all sizes and ages.

Are there any contraindications for these formulas?
There are no specific contraindications with any of our formulas.
